Did you restart the VM in between?

Hello,
This may not be exactly what you are seeing, though it is similar: VMware vRealize Operations Standard shows a 100% workload for networking (1036734) | VMware KB

Hi Roger,
We have been using Appsense but have been having some issues with its ability to capture everything in the user profile or its ability to import back. Also, with Appsense, we have to remove the registry entries (group and member ID) from the gold image every time we power up. Also, not liking the support provided by Appsense (Ivanti).
We are testing VMware UEM and so far it is looking very good. You can get UEM as a standalone solution as well.
Hello,
If you uninstall the Open VM Tools does this same issue appear?
Hi folks, I have a question I know what is DRS and Resource POOL, wondering why when we disable DRS it removes the resource Pools
I got 2 baselines that I need to compare and show me what the different patches are
what cmdlet will do this?
Hello,
This seems similar to vCD API recomposeVApp - adding VM creates MAC conflict alarm on vCenter
Looks like it is expected if Make Identical Copy is selected. Customizing the VM should resolve this issue.

Have you tried switching your host's internet connection from Wifi to Ethernet? Toggling these helped me solve a similar issue.

Recommendation:
Use a local administrator account.
Use IP addresses Instead of FQDN.
Check firewall settings.

Hello Everybody,
I am running Windows 7 on VMWare Fusion and apparently I have made my vmdk to big. The VM frequently locks up and I have to reclaim space to make the VM work again. I have shrunk the volume in the Windows VM disk utility but is there a way to shrink the vmdk so it is not taking up so much of the physical hard drive. The slide bar in the VMWare library settings does not move. This is the only thing that I can think is causing the lock ups. I have tried to use converter but you can't download it on a MAC and I cannot communicate to the VM from another computer in the same subnet. Does anyone have any thoughts on this, any methods that may help outside or rebuilding the VM? Thanks so much everyone.
Brandon
Hello,
Some reading to look over before deciding your path:
OK, what you are seeing is the expected behavior when using "share a unique session" mode. Administrator user name in the task console is the user who is used to execute the actual vCenter task. The entry in the recent tasks panel is not a vCenter task but a vRO workflow execution, so the vmuser name there is the account who has started the workflow (which eventually led to creation of the vCenter task on behalf of administrator user).
If you want full control over the vRO and vCenter operations, the first option to consider is to use "session per user" mode instead of "share a unique session" mode. In this mode, the same use who has logged in to vRO Client and who has run the workflow will be used by vCenter task, so you will be able to fine tune access control/permissions on both vRO and vCenter sides.
The downsides of "session per user" mode are:
Hi all,
Fixed! I rebooted the new ESX host, no joke.
Finnaly after 6 hours I got it working.
Thank you.
Hi,
I am trying to come up with a script which will get all of the VMs from a data store cluster. Then based on the host they are on create one queue per unique host. Finally then kick off one svMotion per host at a time. The goal is for a controlled migration of VMs off of an old data store cluster onto a new on.
I got the easy part of getting all the VMs $AllVMsInDatastoreCluster = Get-DatastoreCluster - Name | Get-VM.
I know logically I will need a different list per host within the cluster and want to load up the VMs based on the value in $AllVMsInDatastoreCluster[x].Host.Name
I was hoping to use Group-Object to create the groups, but then I do not know how to reference the groups after I have them, to start one svMotion per host. So that all of the hosts will have one svMotion occurring at a time until all of the VMs in each of the groups have been migrated. So if there is 10 hosts there are 10 svMotions occurring at once.
I tried performing a get-tagassignment on entities and what I've tested works for me.
Foreach($Entity in Get-Cluster){Get-TagAssignment -Entity $Entity} Foreach($Entity in Get-Datastore){Get-TagAssignment -Entity $Entity}
Would something like this do?
$blName1='Baseline 1'
$blName2='Baseline 2'
$bl1=Get-Baseline-Name$blName1
$bl2=Get-Baseline-Name$blName2
Compare-Object-ReferenceObject$bl1.CurrentPatches -DifferenceObject$bl2.CurrentPatches -PropertyIdByVendor-IncludeEqual
Hello,
If I read this correctly, you are wanting to keep the etc/ssh/ssh_host* keys.
If that is the case run auto-backup.sh after making changes to these keys to save the changes to the state file. Tried this on a 6.5 host and rebooted, the key did not change.
